Such was the case for me on a fateful Friday afternoon, as the clock struck 3 pm and the world seemed to align in a profound manner. In this blog post, I want to share a heartwarming story of faith, love, and resilience that brought me together with Haley, a courageous 27-year-old woman battling breast cancer. Our paths crossed through an unexpected turn of events, leading to a last-minute photoshoot that would forever capture the strength and beauty of her indomitable spirit.
The Journey of Haley:
Haley’s journey began in March 2023 when she received the devastating diagnosis of breast cancer. Despite undergoing a double mastectomy, her unwavering spirit was tested once more when she discovered that the cancer had spread. As she prepares to embark on her first of 12 chemotherapy sessions starting the following Monday June 12, 2023, Haley found herself facing a multitude of emotions, ranging from fear to determination.
The Unexpected Call:
As fate would have it, I had an engagement photoshoot scheduled for that same Friday evening of June 9th, only to receive news of its cancellation due to mandatory overtime. Disappointed yet undeterred, I found myself mindlessly scrolling through social media, seeking a momentary distraction. It was then that I stumbled upon a post from Pleasant Hill Chapel, sharing a heartfelt plea from Haley’s friend in search of a last-minute photographer for a surprise party that very evening.
The Power of Faith:
In that precise moment, I felt an inexplicable connection. Call it serendipity or divine intervention, but I knew in my heart that I was meant to be there for Haley. I reached out on the post, and within minutes, I get a text message and plans were set in motion. Faith had led me to this encounter, and it was crystal clear that our paths were destined to intertwine.
Meeting Haley:
And then, I saw her—Haley, radiant and beaming with an inner light that cancer could never extinguish. I knew I was about to capture something truly remarkable. As I aimed my camera lens at Haley, I couldn’t help but be struck by her radiant presence.
